What is HPEG?
What is HPEG?
- HPEG is a new macromonomer of a new type of polycarboxylate superplasticizer.
- Product Name: Methallyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether
- Molecular formula: CH2=CH(CH3) CH2O(CH2CH2O)nH
- Type: Non-ionic
- English abbreviation: HPEG
- Packing: 25kg/bag, 800kg/bag
What are the characteristics of HPEG?
HPEG product features:
HPEG is a special synthesis process, the appearance color is lighter, the obtained alkenyl polyoxyethylene series products have accurate molecular weight, white appearance, narrow molecular weight distribution, low diol content, and high double bond retention rate.
HPEG is non-toxic, non-irritating, has good water solubility, and will not be hydrolyzed and deteriorated. And it has good compatibility with various components.
The molecular structure of HPEG is comb-shaped and has a large degree of freedom, and the molecular structure can be designed. The required high-performance water-reducing agent can be produced through a relatively simple synthesis process, which greatly improves the product yield of the water-reducing agent, thereby reducing the production cost of the water-reducing agent.
The polycarboxylate superplasticizer synthesized with it has higher water reducing rate, higher slump retention, good high early strength, low alkali, low foam and low energy consumption.
Introduced the third monomer: it has better molecular weight regulation function. The synthesized superplasticizer has uniform molecular weight distribution, good concrete workability and low viscosity.
The higher degree of unsaturation ensures that the effective content of the superchemical agent synthesized in the later stage is higher, which is the most favorable guarantee for high water reduction rate and high slump retention.
How is HPEG stored and transported?
HPEG is non-toxic and non-flammable, and can be handled in accordance with general chemical transportation regulations. It should be stored in a dry and ventilated place to avoid sunlight and rain. Away from fire and heat sources, it should be stored separately from oxidants, strong acids, and strong bases, and should not be stored together.
Methallyl alcohol, also known as “isobutenol”, is an important organic intermediate used in the synthesis of fragrances, resins, etc. Methallyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (HPEG) was synthesized with methallyl alcohol and ethylene oxide as raw materials, which was used as a new generation of high-performance concrete water reducing agent.
Methallyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is easily soluble in water and various organic solvents, and is an important raw material for a new generation of polycarboxylate superplasticizers.
Scope of application of HPEG
- HPEG is mainly used to produce polycarboxylate superplasticizer products.
Dilute HPEG directly with water to the desired ratio, and then mix with unsaturated fatty acid. Under the condition of redox initiation system, the polycarboxylate superplasticizer can be synthesized below 60℃.
